I haven’t watched an SNL episode in its entirety in what feels like an eternity. It’s not like the show’s been giving me any impetus to watch it anyway. When was the last time they were relevant? 2005? Still, as the saying goes, “Even a broken clock is right twice a day,” and this Wes Anderson spoof that aired a couple of weeks ago during the October 27th show hosted by Edward Norton is a doozy.
Spurred on no doubt by the trailer debut of Anderson’s latest, The Grand Budapest Hotel, the spoof nails most of Anderson’s trademarks – the colorful sets, stylistic camera movements, font choices, casting, quirky dialogue, music and most importantly, the tone.
Check it out below and for comparison’s sake, watch the trailer for The Grand Budapest Hotel too.
