If I Had an Oscar ballot – 2014

oscar

Now that you’ve (hopefully) read my exhaustive wrap-up of the year that was 2013, I’m going to turn my eye towards the upcoming industry award shows. This past Wednesday (January 8) was the deadline for Academy members to turn in their ballots. On Thursday, January 16, we’ll all wake up to learn than Gravity, 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle lead the nomination field, and also find out whether or not underdogs like Her and Inside Llewyn Davis make the cut. I’ll be putting up my final nominee predictions piece early next week but for now, here’s what my ballot would look like in an hypothetical world where I were an Academy member.
